Has it always been a dream of yours to work in the tech industry? Or, perhaps you’re attracted to technology due to the relatively high pay, awesome employee perks, and favorable vacation policies? Many people simply want to work on the cutting edge. Whatever the reason, getting a job in the tech industry isn’t easy, and the world’s biggest tech companies are often very choosy when it comes to selecting candidates.

In order to even get your foot in the door, you often need to have an advanced degree from a very good school, have some kind of connections, or just be very, very good at what you do — and have the portfolio to prove it. Sometimes, even all of that isn’t enough. Getting a gig at Google or Facebook is something a lot of people want, and hiring teams at these tech companies often have the pick of the litter.

While there is no real trick to getting hired, setting your sights on companies that are in the hiring process is sure to increase your chances. And we’re here to point you in the right direction.

Earlier this year, Forbes teamed up with job search site Indeed to release a report of 25 companies that are hiring the most tech talent. We’ve cherry-picked seven that are the most tech-centric, but you should check out the entire list for yourself. It includes defense and aerospace companies, financial giants, and many more.

But in terms of tech jobs? Here are seven companies that are hiring a lot of tech talent — so get your resume ready.

1. Amazon

It’s no secret that Amazon has been blowing up, and expanding far beyond simple retail and ecommerce into realms that nobody ever imagined — like original entertainment, and robotics. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has even started his own space exploration firm. Needless to say, Amazon is growing, and the company needs more and more talent to satisfy its needs.

Wade through Amazon’s jobs site to see what positions are open. Fair warning: there are a lot, and they run the gamut in skills and abilities.

2. IBM

IBM is a tech giant — and one that has been around for a long time. You don’t need to work at one of the relative new kids on the block to get a great tech job, and IBM would be a great place to establish a career in the tech industry. Just look at some of the fancy new things IBM is putting out, like the Watson computer; who wouldn’t want to work on that?

Here’s a link to IBM’s job openings.

3. Microsoft

Like IBM, Microsoft is one of the tech industry’s titans. But it’s also been going through a big revival as of late. New technologies like the HoloLens, video games for the Xbox One, and even Windows 10 are all hot on the market, and Microsoft is nipping at Apple’s heels once again. And Sony’s heels. Even Google’s. Everyone’s heels, really…

Get into the race, and check out what jobs Microsoft has open.

4. Apple

Apple is one company that everybody wants to work at. People love their products, and with some very promising new technologies on the horizon (a car, perhaps?), there is a lot of opportunity for new and established tech workers to drink the Apple Kool-Aid. Be warned: Apple jobs are very, very competitive.

Here are Apple’s openings.

5. Hewlett-Packard

Hewlett-Packard, like IBM or Microsoft, is another established tech giant that is still roaming the business landscape, innovating and adapting to the world around it. If you’re not interested in working at a social network or startup, HP might be the perfect company to try your luck.

Check out which positions are available at HP here.

6. Computer Science Corporation

You may not be familiar with Computer Science Corporation, or CSC as it’s commonly called, but they’re a growing tech giant. CSC specializes in offering tech services and consulting, which means they need a lot of people with talent. The company’s headquarters is in the Washington D.C. area, but has employees in more than 60 countries around the world.

Here are the job openings at CSC.

7. AppLabs

If you truly want to go international, check out AppLabs — based in Perth, Australia. AppLabs is the company behind a number of popular — you guessed it — apps for mobile and smart phones, and also has a team of designers and marketing specialists. So, there’s no shortage of opportunity. AppLabs doesn’t have a dedicated jobs page or site, but listings can be found on sites like Indeed and Monster.
